Review: Mommy’s High Heels Shoes Children’s Book
Mommy’s High Heel Shoes is a darling book written by Kristen Finnan who was inspired to write this story after watching her daughter clip clop around in her high heel shoes one morning. It’s written from a little girl’s point of view “Cakes” (nicknamed that because she LOVES cupcakes) who wonders why her Mommy wears all those different kinds of shoes. Cakes notices that Mommy has shoes for work, shoes for shopping at the market, even shoes for making waffles in the morning! Mommy explains that she wears so many different types of shoes because she has so many different types of jobs. The story explores mothers who work outside of the home and the many important jobs they have inside the home as well. The illustrations are beautiful, filled with lots of bright colors that will capture everyone’s attention. In addition to the fabulous story, there’s also a hidden ladybug, cupcake, and heart on every page of the book that everyone will have fun finding each time they read the story!
